Flow States Archival Photo Assemblage on Wood

$2,200.00

This one-of-a-kind piece was made as part of a location-based project with an organization called the Natural Heritage Project.

Artists were given coordinates and then set out to explore their mystery location and create art from their experience. My location was a billion-year-old, uninhabited island in the middle of the St. Croix River: Rock Island.

You can read all about the adventure of paddling to the island and exploring, photographing, and making this piece on my Substack, Terra Incognita.

The piece is an assemblage of photos mounted on reclaimed wood. It represents the aggregation of forces, elements, and life forms that have defined this place for more than a billion years.

Materials: Reclaimed hardwood, archival pigment ink, cotton rag, print varnish, screws. Wired for hanging. Outer dimensions: 24” x 40” x 1”
